Hannibal Rising

This film could have been much better with a better lead actor. Gaspard Ulliel's Hannibal is completely unconvincing and with that horrible accent is utterly amateur. But the story overall was good. For the first half of the film it's really an intense story that really gets you thinking on the nature of revenge. You can actually see the point where Hannibal tranforms from seeking vengeance to actually enjoying his killing. Gantz's revelation that Hannibal too took part in the act that drove him mad was a really good twist. It would have been nice if the story didn't just peter out though. A lot of the killing shown is just gratuitous - you could have made a whole film about Hannibal Lecter without showing any blood.
